Valendo Health is excited to welcome Reza Alavi, M.D., MHS, MBA to the Strategic Advisory Board.

‍

As Principal Co Founder of Quintuple Aim Solutions, Dr. Alavi partners with startups to accelerate their journey towards value-based care through GTM strategy, product market fit optimization, risk-based contracting, and commercialization support.

‍

He served as the Chief Clinical Officer of Dispatch Health, and the President of their Advanced Care business unit in 2022. As the national lead for Institutional Affordability at Optum, he was responsible for the strategy, tactics, and implementations of programs that impacted $6 billion of facility-based care.

‍

Dr. Alavi earned MD/MBA degrees from Thomas Jefferson University, completed residency in Internal Medicine at Mt. Auburn Hospital of Harvard Medical School, and a General Internal Medicine fellowship from Johns Hopkins school of Medicine. Dr. Alavi also received an MHS in cardiovascular epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Valendo Health: Why are you excited to be joining the Valendo Health Advisory board?

‍

Dr. Alavi: I am enthusiastic about the potential of value-based endocrinology. Currently, endocrinologists are often overworked and underpaid, yet they continue to deliver substantial value to their diabetic patients. Through tech-enabled digital health solutions, Valendo can enhance virtual care partnerships, thereby increasing capacity to attend to other high-need patients. I am eager to contribute to their efforts in advancing all aspects of the Quintuple Aim: delivering more efficient, high-quality care, enhancing both provider and patient experiences, and improving health equity outcomes.

Valendo Health: You have such a varied and impressive resume, is there any experience that you have had in the past that you are excited to bring to the Valendo Health Strategic Advisory Board?

‍

Dr. Alavi: I have been fortunate to hold national leadership roles in risk-bearing entities and innovative venture-backed startups. Value-Based Care (VBC) must extend beyond primary care to include a portfolio of specialty solutions that are aligned with driving maximum outcomes for both patients and risk-bearing entities. Over the last 18 months, I have partnered with a portfolio of innovative startups to accelerate their journey toward VBC and risk-based contracts.
